In order to conduct a synthesis, the data must first be extracted using a standard extraction form used for each study. This form includes all datapoints that need to be extracted to answer your research question- for example, number of study participants, interventions, outcomes, and more. The exact data to be extracted depends on the focus and objectives of the review.
This process is completed by a team of at least two people.
