Finding Evidence

Where to search

To find the best available evidence, you may need to search multiple sources.

Journal databases contain many published journals. Each journal database has a specialisation for their content. You'll need to search multiple relevant journal databases to find the best available evidence.

Grey literature is research that is either unpublished or has been published in non-commercial form.

Citation searching is another worthwhile strategy for finding evidence.

If you are looking for evidence on the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, there are searches already designed for you.

Point of care tools may be appropriate if you need a quick summary on a particular condition or procedure.

NSLHD Libraries offer a literature search service, where the librarians will find the evidence for you.
