Role delineation is a planning tool used in service and capital developments. It describes the minimum support services, workforce and other requirements for the safe delivery of clinical services.

A Manual Handling Resource Person (MHRP) is a trained member of staff who will act as a role model in manual handling practice. It is expected that they will provide support to staff within their departments in adopting safe manual handling techniques. It is recommended that each ward or department have a minimum of 2 trained MHRP to assist in the training and assessment of staff.
