The Mental Health Rights Manual (2021) is an online guide to the legal and human rights of people navigating the mental health and human service systems in NSW. It is published by the Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC), the peak body for community managed mental health organisations in NSW.
Chapters include: Ch 4: NSW Mental Health Law and Processes, Ch 6: Mental Illness and the Criminal Justice System, Ch 9 Carers of People with Mental Health Conditions.
The Mental Health Act (2007) Guide Book, written by HETI, provides a clear and practical source of information about procedures and issues to be considered in implementing the Mental Health Act 2007. The 9th edition was published in February 2023.
