These searches have been developed, tested and endorsed as part of the HeLiNS (Health Libraries for the National Standards) Research Project, a joint initiative of HLA and HLI (Health Libraries Inc). Getting an account

  1. Go to Pubmed:  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?otool=iaunshlib
  2. Sign in to your NCBI account if you already have one
  3. If you do not have an account we suggest  you use your Google account or Orcid ID to create an account
  4. Once signed in go to your dashboard by clicking on your profile

Setting up NSLHD full text links

  1. Click on NCBI Site Account – ( your login - top right)
  2. Click on Outside tool – under PuMed preferences
  3. Click on N (A-Z list)
  4. Select Northern Sydney Local Health District
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Return to preferences page - Northern Sydney Local Health District Libraries will now be shown as an Outside Tool.
  6. Once this process is complete, remain signed into NCBI. When you search Pubmed the NSLHD icon will show on the right hand side of the journal record.
  7. If the full text is not available a link to the NSLHD Libraries document delivery form will be offered.

Note
If you wish to change the default search result display abstracts, go to NCBI Site Preferences and under PubMed Preferences, click on Result Display settings and then click  Abstract (under default format) and then click on Save
